Description

Tjanting in Ilana carries the discipline of the batik tool into a textile story. Each line behaves like wax guided by a steady hand; flowing, tapering, and pausing where the spout would naturally rest. The scarf is laid out like a botanical page: lilies rising tall, golden narcissus clustered in bloom, ranunculus with layered heads, and snowdrops bending softly. Smaller sprigs hold the spaces between them, so every motif stands clear, like specimens carefully arranged in order.

The frame holds the field in place. A scalloped band runs inside, while garlands of buds and vines repeat around the edge. At the corners, the florals gather more densely, locking the rectangle so the design stays contained no matter how it drapes.

The Ilana palette rests on stone-grey, with florals in burnt red, golden yellow, olive-brown, and cream. Yellow accents brighten the surface, while the grey base grounds the whole piece.

On Korean chiffon, the motifs appear sharp and clear, every vein and scallop defined. On Soof modal, edges soften and colours settle into a muted wash, giving the scarf a more archival, textile-like presence.
